Belltown Spotlight on Business of the Month

The East Hampton Economic Development Commission recognizes one local business each month as a "Belltown Spotlight on Business of the Month" recipient. This business must be a “for profit” business in our community. This award is presented to a town registered business that does extremely well in one or more of the following areas; community involvement, economic growth, customer service, professional relationships or a newer business.

Nomination Process:

Businesses can be nominated by any resident and business owners may nominate themselves. This award is available only to East Hampton businesses. Nominations must be submitted via the online form below or on the Belltown Spotlight on Business of the Month Nomination form at the link below. All verified nominations will remain up for consideration for three months from the date of submission.

Eligibility Criteria: 

Should be in business at least one year and demonstrate at least one of the following selection criteria:

  • Outstanding support to the community
  • Provide superior customer service and/or products
  • Economic growth
  • Considered a successful and professional business by peers

Recognition will include:

  • An article/ photo in the Rivereast weekly newspaper subject to approval, availability and editing by Rivereast staff.
  • Business of the Month sign in front of business for one month.
  • Business of the Month certificate of recognition or other material as chosen by the commission.

Selection Process: 

Deadline for nominations is the 3rd Tuesday of each month. Nominees will be verified as local businesses by the Town Manager and/ or EDC Commission members. Standard verification includes town business registration, evidence of business tax payments, etc. Business of the Month is decided by a Commission vote with a majority vote electing the Business of the Month.

​The nomination form is available electronically below, at the link above or by contacting the Town Managers Office or any EDC Member for a hard copy of the form. Please apply online or deliver a hard copy of the nomination form to the Town Manager’s Office or bring to the EDC Monthly meeting held the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 6:30 at the Town Hall.
