Obtaining a Burn Permit

Notice: Burn Permits will NOT be issued if Fire Danger is HIGH;

NEW DIRECTIONS FOR COMPLETING AN OPEN BURNING APPLICATION- we heard your concerns about the application process and have worked to create an easier burn permit process (no printing or scanning required!). 

1. Fill out the permit online here: Online Burn Permit
2. Application will open
- select Continue to agree to terms of use. 
3. Fill Out Applicant Information- Fill in highlighted areas at top, be sure to check box for declaration.
4. Click to sign- add your email to submit request. 
5. Verify Email - you will receive email to verify and confirm, select confirm my email. 
6. Open burning official is now reviewing your request- The Fire Marshal is generally in the office on Monday and Friday. Any permits received by 2:00pm on Monday and by 11:30am on Friday will be approved on that day.  Any permits received after that will be processed on the next office day.

Permits are valid for 10 days and the dates will be listed on the form.

Please remember that just because you submitted an open burning request, until it has been approved, it is not a valid request.
