Water Pollution Control Authority

About Us

The WPCA manages the Colchester-East Hampton Joint Facilities (Joint Facilities) which currently serves the Towns of East Hampton, Colchester, Marlborough, Hebron and Lebanon with a sanitary sewer system. The Joint Facilities is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the sanitary collection system which includes over 125 miles of piping and 35 multi-town pump stations. It is also responsible for the inter-town maintenance for routine inspections, equipment, support and emergency call out for service.

The current fiscal year operating budget is over 1.8M and pursuant to state regulations the WPCA operates under an “Enterprise Fund” i.e. all fees paid by the user of the system must be used for the operations and maintenance of the wastewater plant. No part of any Town’s General Fund is allocated for the operations or maintenance of the wastewater plant.

The East Hampton Water Pollution Control Authority (WPCA) is located at 20 Gildersleeve Drive, East Hampton, adjacent to the East Hampton Public Works.
