Snow Plowing Damage Mail Box Policy

Within twenty-four (24) hours of an incident in which a mailbox has been hit by the Town snow plow, the resident, upon notification to the Public Works Department, shall receive the following:

  1. A payment to replace the damaged box, not to exceed twenty-five dollars ($25.00) within thirty (30) days of the incident.
  2. The Town and Public Works Department shall not be responsible for any direct installation or labor to install said mailbox or post. The Town reserves the right to inspect the mailbox prior to authorizing any payment, to satisfy that said damage was done by Town plow. The Town and its Public Works Department limits its liability to the payment above and is not responsible or ornate, fancy or expensive installations which may be damaged by the Town plow.
