6/4/2010

On Wednesday June 2, 2010 the State Department of Health inspected the modifications to the ROWS treatment plant.  Based upon that inspection, the project was acknowledged as being complete.

This will be our last update.  We certainly appreciates everyone's patience during this event.

5/20/10
Modifications went very well last week.  The new contact chamber and well blow-off were installed by Hungerford's by mid-week and that left time for the new greensand filter to be installed by Blake Equipment.  Over the weekend we tested all the new equipment and began to optimize the performance of the station.  This will take several days and is still being done with well #3 off line as water quality results have not been received.

On Monday we contacted the State Health Department to report all modifications have been completed and to schedule a site visit. The earliest they can arrive is sometime the week of May 21st.

5/6/10
Today the rehabilitation of well #3 has been completed by Subsurface Technologies.  The well is presently being pumped to waste.  Before we can begin to utilize the well it must be disinfected pursuant to Section 19-13-B47 of the RCSA.  This will be done early next week.  After disinfection and before the well can be placed into active status the water must be sampled for total coliform bacteria and organic chemicals.  Test results must be in compliance of Section 19-13-B102e of the RCSA and be submitted to the DPH.

Work is scheduled to begin on the modifications to the treatment process Tuesday, May 13, 2010.   They are expected to require three to four days for completion.

After completion of the modifications the State Department of Health will be contacted for a final inspection of the work.  We are anticipating an inspection the week of May 17th.

We will be providing additional information as it is made available.

5/4/10
Subsurface Technologies arrived on site yesterday and despite the poor weather were able to remove the well pump and prepare Well #3 for rehabilitation. Work continues on schedule.

Yesterday we received State Health Department approval for the modificatins to the Royal Oaks Water system treatment plant.  Contractors will be on site shortly.

4/29/10
Work on the rehabilitiation of Well #3 by Subsurface Technologies will begin on Monday, May 4th.  The work to be performed is as follows:

Monday 5/3 - Pull the pump
Tuesday 5/4 - Wire brushing and set up the Aqua Freed Treatment
Wednesday 5/5 - Aqua Freed Treatment
Thursday 5/6 - Development
Friday 5/7 - Set the pump
Monday 5/10 - Install Aqua Gard

At the present time we have not received approval from the State Health Department for modifications to the treatment process but we anticipate approval shortly.  Work is scheduled to begin as soon as approval is received.
