PRESS RELEASE
The Town of East Hampton’s Public Works Department will be doing Hot In-Place Asphalt Recycling starting on 8-18-08 and continuing for approximately two weeks. The work will be done on the following roads: Barton Hill (from Rte. 66 to Forest Street), Champion Hill Rd., Abbey Road, Abbey Road Ext., Serafin Terrace, North Cone Rd., Clark Hill Rd., Midwood Farm Rd., Lake Drive, Staeth Rd., Wopowog Rd, Taylor Drive, Wildwood Lane and Old Young Street. The Town apologizes for any inconvenience caused by this work. Please expect delays and possible road closures. Please call the Public Works Department 860-267-4747 if there are any questions.
ROAD CLOSURE - MAIN STREET
The Town of East Hampton has contracted with Standard Demolition Construction Company for the replacement of the Main Street Bridge. Construction will begin on Thursday, July 31, 2008. Main Street will be closed both North and South bound at Route 196 and the Library/ Community Center. This closure will be in place until Columbus Day. The Library/Community Center will continue to be open during the construction. Traffic for Main Street will be detoured over Route 196 (Skinner Street). We are asking that all who use Main Street as a daily route allow some
extra time for their travels and to follow the designated detour route. If you have any questions, please call the Police Department at 267-9922.
