Business Resources
Mission

Our mission is to assist in the creation and growth of small business in Connecticut. Based at the University of Connecticut School of Business, the CSBDC provides one-on-one counseling as well as group training programs at regional locations around the state. Our regional offices are staffed by professional business counselors who provide one-on-one counseling without charge to Connecticut’s small business community.

The following business resources are provided to assist you in obtaining information to start, expand or relocate your business:

Contact Connecticut's Business Response Center (BRC) and Smart Start for information that is state, local, and industry specific at 1-800-392-2122 or via e-mail,

Use CERC ProgramFinder® for up-to-date business information at no cost to you. Business Resource database access is available 24 hours a day at the website below (click on Doing Business in Connecticut). CBRC update databases semiannually and are available to meet with you in person for a brief training session.

Use the Connecticut Licensing Info Center and Smart Start for up-to-date licensing information. Convenient internet access is available at the link below free of charge to determine eligibility, view instructions on how to register, download forms and find answers on who to contact.

THE STATEWIDE CSBDC NETWORK The Connecticut Small Business Development Center (CSBDC) is part of the University of Connecticut School of Business.
